Turnover of Medical Equipment at Tubo-Tubo North
As Eramen Minerals Inc.(EMI) continues to grow, it is making sure that all the host and neighboring barangays are able to also thrive. In order to fulfill this, the company is doing its utmost to bring out the best that it can offer. During the pandemic crisis, the financial, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of humanity were tested. To alleviate some of the problems that society has been facing, EMI has decided to provide assistance and heed requests that will benefit the welfare of local residents.
Tubo-Tubo North, one of the neighboring barangays of EMI, requested equipment to be utilized for their Health Center. The company heeded their request and turned over a water dispenser, refrigerator, table and fetal doppler on July 6, 2021. The ComRel Department was warmly received by the barangay health care workers, led by head nurse Jona De Mariano Castanos. “Thank you for approving our request. Akl of this will be utilized efficiently here in our Health Center”, said Ms. Castanos. The other BHWs were also very happy about the appliances they received. One of them said, “This is the start of a good life here”. They said that the provisions from EMI will not just help them in terms of medical capability, but also in terms of convenience.
The company had purposely chosen devices with high-end quality and extra features to maximize the convenience of the recipients. The water dispenser has additional storage which can be seen just under its faucets. Meanwhile, the two-door refrigerator runs with low electricity consumption which will help save money. The unit will play a vital role in their barangay’s vaccination campaign because it will serve as their main vaccine storage. The barangay had a traditional BP apparatus, so the company provision of a digital BP monitor will help improve BP reading accuracy. The table will be used for multiple purposes form eating meals to holding important meetings, and its portability will make it easier to transport and lend if necessary. Finally, the fetal doppler, which was highly anticipated by the midwives, will be used to check the heart rate of a fetus and to help determine if it has a congenital diseases or is at risk of complications.
The total cost of all the equipment and devices amounted to ₱ 23,001, charged under Barangay Tubo-Tubo North’s budget allocation in the health component of EMI’s 2021 Social Development and Management Program. Although EMI had already supplied many essential COVID items in the early period of the pandemic crisis, the company felt like it will never be enough and that it should continue providing to those in need. EMI is not just granting equipment to improve the services the health center can offer, but it is also the company’s way of increasing the morale of the valiant front liners by letting them know that someone has their back.
