(EMI) actively invests in the economic resilience of its host and neighboring communities by fostering livelihood opportunities and strengthening local enterprises. Through its Enterprise Development and Networking initiatives, EMI provides essential tools, equipment, and training to support farmers, fishers, tricycle operators, and other livelihood groups. These efforts, funded under the Social Development and Management Program – Development of Host and Neighboring Communities (SDMP-DHNC), are designed to equip communities with the resources and skills necessary for sustainable growth and financial stability. Recognizing the vital role of livelihood groups in economic progress, EMI provides essential resources to improve productivity and enhance daily operations. By supplying farming tools, fishing gear, and transportation-related equipment, EMI enables local workers to sustain their livelihoods, increase income potential, and improve their overall quality of life. One of EMI’s recent initiatives focused on bolstering agricultural sustainability by providing livestock to farmers in its partner communities.
Through this project, farmers received pigs and goats to support their farming operations and diversify their sources of income. The provision of livestock not only helps in increasing agricultural productivity but also offers long-term financial benefits for farming households. By integrating livestock farming into their existing agricultural activities, beneficiaries can expand their livelihood opportunities and improve food security within the community. Beyond material support, EMI also facilitates various livelihood programs within barangays, creating alternative income sources for residents. These programs provide skills training in diverse fields such as handicrafts, food processing, and small-scale entrepreneurship, encouraging innovation and self-reliance among community members. In 2024 alone, EMI has allocated PHP 3.13 million to support these livelihood efforts, ensuring that communities receive continuous support in their economic development.
