By Zyliyaah Jade Ednalaga | On May 30, 2025, Eramen Minerals Inc., through its Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), partnered with the Barangay Bayto Council and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office to conduct a Home-Based Meat Preservation and Production Training for the Samahan ng Kababaihan ng Barangay Bayto. The activity was held at the Barangay Plaza in Sta. Cruz, Zambales.
Participants were given hands-on training in preparing longganisa and tocino—practical skills that can support both household needs and small-scale income generation. Early outcomes are encouraging, with some participants already starting to produce and sell their products locally.
Facilitated by Ms. Analisa Movilla, president of the women’s organization, and supported by local officials and Eramen’s Community Relations Office, the training empowered women to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities and strengthen their economic independence.
The initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to inclusive growth by fostering local skills development, livelihood creation, and economic participation at the grassroots level.
