By Jeric Meer | Eramen Minerals Inc. (EMI) reaffirmed its commitment to ethical, transparent, and environmentally responsible operations by undergoing the Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) Mine Site Sustainability Audit on June 12–14, 2025, at its Sta. Cruz, Zambales site.
The audit, led by accredited Verification Service Providers (VSPs)—Atty. Karla Espenosa of the Department of Finance and Mr. Joey Ayson of the Philippine Mining & Exploration Association—evaluated EMI’s practices against key TSM protocols, including Indigenous Peoples and Community Outreach, Child and Forced Labor Prevention, Biodiversity Conservation, Safety and Health, Climate Change, Crisis Management, and Water Management.
Representatives from Human Resource, Environment, Safety, Community Relations, and Operations actively participated, reflecting a company-wide dedication to sustainability. Developed by the Mining Association of Canada and adopted by the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines, TSM promotes industry-leading practices that go beyond compliance.

EMI showcased transparency, readiness, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Insights from the audit will guide further enhancements in operations and stakeholder engagement.
