By Janice Menes | In line with Eramen Minerals Inc.’s commitment to supporting education through its Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), under the Development of Host and Neighboring Communities component, an orientation and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony was conducted simultaneously from June 14 to 16, 2025, for all newly approved and continuing scholars for Calendar Year 2025.

The activity was organized to formally welcome the scholars, orient them on their roles and responsibilities under the program, and facilitate the smooth release of their financial allowances. This was carried out by EMI’s Finance Team, in close coordination and partnership with the 25 barangay councils.

A total of 288 scholars from EMI’s 25 host and neighboring barangays participated in the orientation. The session provided a comprehensive overview of the SDMP’s objectives, policies, and guidelines—highlighting the importance of academic excellence, good conduct, and community involvement. It also covered the scholarship’s terms and conditions, including academic performance requirements and documentation obligations.

During the event, each scholar, accompanied by a parent or guardian, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Eramen Minerals Inc. The MOA outlines the responsibilities of both the scholar and the company, fostering mutual accountability and a shared commitment to the students’ academic success.

Following the MOA signing, financial allowances were distributed to the scholars. These funds are intended to help cover school-related expenses such as transportation and other academic needs.

This initiative underscores Eramen’s continued commitment to education and youth empowerment in its host and neighboring communities. Through the SDMP-DHNC educational assistance, the company aims to uplift local families by providing access to quality education and supporting students in achieving their full potential.
