By Janice Menes | Eramen Minerals, Inc. (EMI) formally turned over a ₱1 million school service vehicle to Guinabon Elementary School on April 16, 2025, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the school’s teaching and non-teaching staff, the Barangay Guinabon Council, and community representatives.
This project is part of EMI’s Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), implemented in accordance with DENR Administrative Order No. 2025-10, which promotes the development of host and neighboring communities. It also supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure by enhancing mobility for school-related activities and ensuring that students have safe, reliable transportation for educational events and functions.
Mr. Benjie M. Merza, School Principal, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Eramen Minerals, Inc., emphasizing that the vehicle is much-needed support for the school, especially for its 649 students, and will have a significant and positive impact on both learners and educators.
Furthermore, Barangay Captain Hon. Marites M. Tabucol also expressed her sincerest thanks to Eramen Minerals, Inc. for realizing this project and helping provide essential educational facilities for Guinabon Elementary School.
Through this effort, Eramen Minerals, Inc.—headed by our VP for Operations, Ms. Erika Marie A. Fernandez, and OIC Resident Mine Manager, Engr. Roderick P. Sison, through its Community Relations Head, Ms. Rizamie P. Rodilla—continues to demonstrate how responsible mining practices can foster innovation, uplift communities, and drive sustainable progress.
