By Immaculate Anne Largo | In celebration of Earth Day 2026, Eramen Minerals Inc. (EMI), in partnership with the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Zambales and the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Masinloc, successfully conducted a series of environmental activities across Sta. Cruz, Zambales.

The two-day initiative commenced with the Community PanTREE Activity held in Barangays Guisguis and Guinabon. The activity facilitated the distribution of a total of fifty thousand (50,000) seedlings to local residents, with the active participation and support of PENRO Zambales, CENRO Masinloc, barangay officials, and community members. This initiative aimed to encourage household-level tree growing and strengthen community involvement in reforestation and environmental conservation efforts.

On the second day, EMI, led by the Mine Environmental Protection and Enhancement (MEPE) Office and supported by various departments, conducted a Tree Planting Activity in the Upper Bolas Charlie area. The initiative promoted environmental awareness, supported land rehabilitation efforts, and included an IEC session to strengthen understanding of sustainable practices.

Together, these activities highlight EMI’s continued commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainability, and community engagement, reflecting a shared responsibility in protecting natural resources and fostering ecological resilience.

From seeds distributed to trees planted, each step brings us closer to a more sustainable and resilient future.
