(EMI) hosted the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy (MENRE)–BARMM for a benchmarking (Lakbay-Aral) activity at its mine site, aimed at strengthening institutional learning and promoting best practices in responsible and sustainable mining.

The delegation was led by Environment Minister Akmad A. Brahim, together with Director II Raphael L. Remo (Mines and Geosciences Services) and Director II Ustadh Jalani M. Pamlian (Environmental Management Services), and included representatives from MLGU Tawi-Tawi, CENREO, PENRO, the academe, and the Mines Safety, Environment and Social Development Division. Mining companies from Tawi-Tawi—Singcara Mining, SR Languyan Mining, and Chan C Mining—also participated.

The group was welcomed by EMI, alongside MGB Region III Director Noel B. Lacadin and representatives from the Zambales Provincial Government and LGU Sta. Cruz, underscoring strong multi-sector collaboration.

During the visit, EMI shared its key practices on environmental compliance and rehabilitation (EPEP/AEPEP), SDMP implementation, and monitoring systems, including MMT, MRFC, and RCF/MTF mechanisms. The activity served as a platform for knowledge exchange, reinforcing transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in sustainable mining.

Through this initiative, EMI upholds its commitment to advancing responsible resource development and strengthening partnerships across regions.
