(EMI) actively participated in the 1st Quarter 2026 National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 12, 2026, at the EMI Basecamp in Biay, Sta. Cruz, Zambales. During the drill, personnel practiced the standard “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure and conducted an orderly evacuation to designated safe areas, showcasing effective preparedness, coordination, and adherence to safety protocols.
The drill was conducted in compliance with the directives of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), in partnership with the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS). Facilitated by EMI’s Safety and Health Office, the activity aimed to strengthen earthquake preparedness, enhance safety awareness, and ensure that all personnel are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond appropriately during seismic events.

By actively participating in the NSED, EMI reinforces its commitment to creating a safe and resilient workplace. The initiative demonstrates that preparedness is not only a regulatory requirement but a shared responsibility, ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees.
By practicing safety measures together, EMI strengthens both individual readiness and collective resilience.
