By Julius Kenneth Molino | The Construction of Three Units of Solar Street Lights in Barangay Malabago, under the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), is a community infrastructure initiative aimed at improving public safety, promoting environmental sustainability, and supporting energy efficiency. The project involves the installation of solar-powered street lights in strategic areas of the barangay to ensure well-lit public spaces during nighttime.
These three solar streetlights will be strategically positioned in identified high-traffic or underserved zones within Barangay Malabago, based on input and assessment from barangay officials and community consultations. Powered by solar energy, the streetlights function independently of the electrical grid, ensuring uninterrupted operation even during power outages and minimizing reliance on traditional power sources.
This initiative supported by a PHP 30,000.00 budget—highlights the company’s ongoing dedication to fulfilling the objectives of the SDMP, showcasing how the mining industry can make meaningful contributions to the welfare of its host communities through sustainable and impactful development efforts. This collaboration between Barangay Malabago and Eramen Minerals, Inc. reflects a shared dedication to environmental responsibility and community development. It stands as a model of how localized infrastructure solutions can yield meaningful improvements in both safety and sustainability.
